NOLA and the Gulf Coast Adventure - DAY 3

 Day 3 - In the downpour of New Orleans

The storm has hit, but it hasn't dampened our adventure!

After Banana Foster French toast at the Ruby Slipper, we grabbed our first traditional on this trip at the trolley station!

We made our way via trolley along Canal Street to the Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium. Perfect way to while away a wet morning.

From the Aquarium/Insectarium, we walked along the riverfront to see the riverboat and log a Virtual geocache.

Lunch at Landry's included oysters and calamari topped off with beignets at Cafe Beignet.

Have you ever had a muffaletta? We were told the originals were at Central Grocery & Deli so we brought some back to the hotel for a rest and meal before our night adventure.

How else do you top off a Saturday night in New Orleans than taking a "Dead of Night Ghosts and Cemetery Tour"? It included walking through Masonic Cemetery 1 at night and being told ghost stories in City Park under the 1,000 YO oaks! Spectacular experience!

I would've loved to have seen more Virtuals in the cemeteries. They were amazing structures above ground and in the walls. So much history here.
