Sun Setting on 2020

2020 was liked a deranged elevator - many highs and many lows. It was dizzying.

☀️ Surpassed 10,000 geocache finds
☀️ Completed my 3,000 cache-a-day streak
☀️ Until the pandemic, I had 97 months of First-to-Finds
☀️ Enjoyed several adventures with ShelleyJean including Ohio geotours (Cornhenge!) and visits to Lake Erie Birding preserves
☀️ Created a Motown Adventure Lab and enjoyed over a dozen new AL's in Michigan & Ohio.
☀️ Earned each HQ souvenir including the Sun Sets souvenir below.

It's amazing to see so many fabulous accomplishments. With the pandemic and then a series of losses & setbacks in the last few months, I forgot all the fun. But heading into 2021, things are already looking up starting with the 300+ caches being released on New Year's Day.

Wishing all our geocaching friends a safe and healthy new year!

Treasure Map! See Where the Treasure is Hidden!

I don’t want to sound all mystic-spiritual-touchy-feely, but I do believe in Karma.  How else would you explain the wonderful surprise in my Inbox!

Do you remember my pirate map?  It celebrated my 5,000th find and 1,000th day of cache-a-day streaking.

I shared it wil all and asunder because the map is so cool!  And now I have another one!

Apparently, I helped boost the Geocaching Milestones and Extrememes FB page to over 600 “Likes” and Wayne created a “Milestones and Extremes First 75 Hides” map as a thank you!  It just arrived in my Inbox out of the blue.

WOW!  To see the bigger picture!  I didn’t realize how far I’ve spread my caches out.  And the wonderful favorite points and number of visits! I'll confess - I love the numbers, too.

It’s an absolute hoot looking at each of these smaller maps within a map.

Wayne even added a special cartouche to the map.  Do you see the ammo can?

LOVE IT!  Maybe on my next milestone “Hide” map there will be a few in Canada or further north, too.

Day 1000 And Cache 5000!

Yesterday was my big day! The one thousandth day of my consecutive cache-a-day streak! To top it off, I found my cache #5000! And the best part is sharing this adventure with my sweetie, TaGeez. And there's been many adventures since starting my streak on my birthday in 2012:

* Midwest GeoBash 2012-2014
* Port Clinton, OH
* Chicago Geocaching Podcast Sign-off
* Traverse City
* Power Island
* Excursions to Jackson, Port Huron, Windsor, Holly/Fenton, Lansing and Frankenmuth
* The Cleveland/Erie Adventure

We've come across some remarkable experiences especially:

* The Metroparks Geocaching Adventures
* The Historic Counties Challenges
* The Michigan Star
* The JASMER caches
* The historic cemetery caches

I love sharing these amazing experiences with my Love, TaGeez, my family (Team Free Range Lobsters) and my fabulous Geocaching friends.

A special thank you to everyone who has hidden a cache, hosted a meet, and joined us on this journey.
