A Different Kind of Emergency Kit

If you've been to one of gsix5666 Happy New Year's event, everyone wins a door prize. This is a popular prize for "those in the know".

But what kind of "Emergency Kit" is it?

Have you ever been caught out in the woods for a bio-emergency and have been unprepared? Keep these kits in your caching bag. So, what is it? Yes, 5 rolls of dehydrated toilet paper - just add the included water!

And before you ask, yes, gsix does work with the scouts!

MOGA Swag!

TaGeez, the ever-supportive, saw me counting my loot from MOGA 2023 (MOGA! MOGA! MOGA!).

"What're you going to do with that? Will you even look at it again?"

"Hey, don't come between me and my precious!" (She hisses in her best Gollum voice!)

Luckily he is always very supportive of my swag habits! He even bought me this little cutie to carry in our travels 💚

MOGA! MOGA! MOGA!

MOGA! MOGA! MOGA!

That’s the shout that resounded from the U of M Flint ballroom on Friday and Saturday!

This last weekend was MOGA 2023 Cars Coneys Caches

Our first event of the year, TaGeez and I enjoyed cruising the backroads of Genesee County, where we nabbed over 115 caches and adventure labs including my 12,000th find!

We enjoyed the Friday Night – Kick off, where we grabbed our swag and ran into friends coming out of winter hibernation.

Attended the GPS Maze at MOGA 2023

Completed an 82-stop GeoArt including the Tree of Shoes!

Ran into our old buddy, Signal again!

Earned the final “Wheelof Challenges” souvenir from April’s Geocaching HQ

And, our most favorite part, enjoyed driving the backroads of Genesee County to complete The Preservers GeoTour GC4D6. It was 9-stops at local nature preserves – so many birds, waterways, budding trees, and 1 disc golf tournament! Our favorite stop was pretty Buell Lake (TPGT – Grand Master Snapper GCA6W9T).

Luckily, Michigan weather was on our side this weekend with 82 degree days and sunshine.

Thank you to all the Auto City Cachers for the amazing job putting this on!

Flip a Coin - What's Your Answer?

Gsix5666 arrived at the Taco Tuesday - International Day of Awesomeness event with a grin on his face.

"I have something here for you. Can you guess what this is? Oh, and the little vial is water."

Then he sat back and smiled. Do you know what his present is below?

We guessed water testers, CoronaVirus, antacids. No? Glenn was enjoying himself immensely.

"Put it in your pack. You will be glad you have it".

What do we do with it?

"Just add two drops of water."

What?

These are Portawipes Compressed Toilet Paper Tablet Coin Tissues! Never GO without again! What a hoot and, oh so practical!

It was a very fun night. We ended it with a Large FTF in a field - all the cool kids were there!

Trackable FTF Swag

Ooh, my order came in from I.B. Geocaching Supplies!

Unactivated but trackable FTF buttons for my new caches!
That should be a nice surprise for my finders :)

Check out I.B. Geocaching Supplies from Nova Scotia.
Unique geocoins, geomedals, trackable ornaments and buttons.
Path tags, t-shirts, banners, and wooden nickels.
They have weekly contests, too.

I've added them to my Fave Sites list on the right.
Happy Caching!

Stuff We All Get (SWAG)

The Christmas before last the Geocaching Association of Great Britain (GAGB) started a campaign in anticipation of the pending holidays. With so many kids out of school and (we assume) geocaching, it suggested that cache owners fill up their caches with swag as a seasonal bonus. They said it was a good time to clean out your drawers, collect old swag, etc and fill up those ammo cans.

I thought this was a brilliant idea. Especially since I work in an office with a lot of giveaways. If I receive an extra doodad or cowbell, I plop it in a box (after removing any commercial information) for my next cache maintenance run. Just in time for the summer break.

#GetOutdoors

The scene at today's great adventure!

Then after finding this fabulous D/T 4.5/3, I stopped at a cache on the way back and found this:

That's quite some swag!

Swag Spotlight: Ray, MI

Pretty cool, eh? TaGeez found this in a cache at Wolcott Mill.  It can be worn as a pin or used as a magnet.

Thank you, bloominfitiot!

Geocaching Tokens from Team Mumu

Aren't these cool? Custom swag found in TaGeez's cache called Gone Fishin' (GC55A66). Fitting, right? And the Cacher's last name is Salmon!

She was visiting from New York and had attended a meet earlier in the week. She was in town for a curling tournament at the Ferndale Curling Club located right across the street from my house. So many coincidences.

You can visit the website to see where they were released and the comments the recipient's left. Great idea!
