Happy New Year!

Greetings and Happy New Years!

Yesterday was a lovely time in Southeastern Michigan! Coordinated by gsix5666, local Cachers hide and release hundreds of new caches on New Year's Day. First, they host a Poker Run the weekend before. Then we attend a delicious breakfast at Hope Lutheran in Warren, with door prizes, friendly banter, and new caches. This year there was approximately 445 new caches released!

HNY25-16th Annual Geocaching Breakfast Event

After the caches were released, Steve (TaGeez) and I headed north past Romeo to target caches around the proving grounds. There, after grabbing a few FTF's, we ran into Justinator and TopDog01 (Fast Crew) on the North Road. Instead of competing against us, this father and son duo joined us for the next dozen or so FTFs. Snow, dirt roads, freezing fingers... we had a blast!

We ended the day with 37 finds, including 17 FTF's, and 2 new souvenirs! Then we headed home for a restful holiday together.

The fun didn't end there! I spent this morning solving HNY puzzles and realized one still hadn't been found! Off I went, and I found a blank log!! And just up the road I nabbed two more! Starting the year off right - we want to do more caching this year.

Speaking of goals, I have added another caching-related one to our list. Looking at my solved-puzzle list, I'm finding they are being archived faster than I'm finding them. So, my goal is to focus on puzzle solves and get my list down to under a 100 solved-but-unfound caches by year end. Let's check back next year to see how I do!
