Shed a Little Light on It

It's amazing what you find when you clean out your geocaching box. I had bought these Defiant arm bands on clearance, and we took them for a test run tonight.

Great to have when geocaching a trail at dusk or walking at night. With distracted drivers and kamikaze bikers, they are a great way to be noticed without causing night blindness.

It saves on battery life in your flashlights, and, pressing the button, it blinks, too. Perfect when you fall over that log while night caching and your geo-partner loses track of you.

Zombie Ammo Can

YMBAGI... you see this on the shelf and am disappointed because it contains neither a logbook nor a zombie.

Such a Loser!

Long story short.... I inadvertently joined the Biggest Loser Challenge at work. With almost 25% of my coworkers joining in, what to do?

Seeing it as a sign, I joined with TaGeez to get our steps on. On the bright side, unlike many of my peers, we know how to walk with a purpose.

GEOCACHING!

Luckily we're surrounded by nature trails and preserves.

TaGeez making the geocaching fashion statement

And the weather has cooled so a good time to go on long walks to those faraway, neglected geocaches.

And, of course, making friends along the way.

I've never seen one of these in the wild before!

Experiencing Fall in Michigan firsthand.

Look how much I lost!

And TaGeez is looking good, too!

Hey, if you aren't having fun you aren't living.

I've volunteered to give a geocaching 101 class for the other Biggest Losers so they can walk with a purpose, too!

Don't Go Breaking My App

I haven't posted much lately because adventures have been at a minimum and not much news in the geocaching world.... or so I thought. TaGeez and I attended GSIX's Fall event on Friday, and I received heartbreaking news!

Don't go breaking my heart!

With the advent of the IOS 11 update, Geosphere will no longer function! Apple's release will kill any 32-bit apps loaded on your iPhones. And, unfortunately, Geosphere's developer has been MIA for several years.

First the Geocaching Classic and now Geosphere. How is girl supposed to keep a streak alive?

Sorry, Geocaching.com, but the current "official app" is a joke. Cachly has accessibility issues for the aging geocaching population, and Looking4Cache is quite the learning curve. And all three are missing several fabulous features near and dear to my heart. Plus, from my understanding, Geocching.com has discontinued allowing new developers access to the live API.

What is a streaker to do?
