Dream Big Trackable - Free!

I admit - I'm in the winter doldrums. It's a wet Winter in Michigan. My Love and geocaching Yang to my Yin has broken his leg, and our newest buddy was off having fun in Chicago. So there hasn't been much to write about... until today!

The Dream Big Catch-M trackable. You have just 13 more days to enter for one of 1,400 free trackables.

Geocachers are invited to join the Dream Big movement. With a CATCH-M trackable, a magical character from the book, share your “big geocaching smiles” on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtags #GeocachersDreamBIG #contest. From February to October 2017, three photos that best capture smiley geocaching adventures will be selected each month to win an autographed 1st Edition of Dream Big. Those winners will also be entered to win the Grand Prize of $1,000 cash and three additional autographed 1st Editions of Dream Big. The Grand Prize winner will be announced on World Smile Day, October 6, 2017.

Heck! I want a trackable, but I wouldn't mind a copy of the book, too. Good luck, everyone!

SE MIGO Meet + Dragon + Prize Geocoins

Had a great time at last night’s monthly SE MIGO Meet at Panera.  Caching Fire (TB5MKYT) made his grand appearance on the event scene.  I think it was a hoot!...er.. I mean a hit!

While at the meet (with everyone “discovering” my dragon), I ran into DarrylW4.  I mentioned earlier that I won a geo-prize in one of the GeoGearHead’s drawings.  He handed it to me.  Woot!  I won a 2011 DarrylW4/Firefly geocoin and a Cache-A-Maniacs geocoin!  Awesome!  I already have a DarrylW4/Firefly geocoin (with a silver border) so I’m going to give this gold-bordered one to TaGeez for his collection (I “earned” another DarrylW4/Firefly geocoin about a year ago at the Belle Isle event, and it’s in my sister’s collection).

All in all, a good event and the last one for me before Christmas.  I wish all my geo-friends an awesome holiday season!

I WON! I WON!

By completing the Michigan Geocaching Adventure, I was entered into a drawing for a free 2014 Metropark pass! Woot! And I won! That is a wonderful reward - our parks are gorgeous!

I've been so lucky these last few months! All due to my love of geocaching.

October - Won family passes to the Detroit Zoo after completing the zoo caches.

November - Won a geo-prize pack after sharing the GeoGearHeads podcast.

December - Won my Metropark pass after completing the MGA series!

I must be doing something right and am really grateful!

UPDATE: I just found out that my sister, WikidKriket, won one of the five passes, too! Woot! 2014 MGA HERE WE COME!

Geo-Phobia and Zoo Winner

Out grabbing my cache-a-day, when I stopped for the Geo-Phobia: Trypophobia GC4FV7N pictured here. It's the fear of holes and was at this really cool abandoned cottage. Team Rumble finds the neatest hiding spots!

Afterwards, as I was treating myself to coneys at National Coney Island, I got a great email from SnowBird2. SnowBird2 hides a set of caches at the Detroit Zoo each year. As I had completed the series this year I had been entered into a drawing AND WON! A family day pass! Cool! In addition to my membership, I can bring TaGeez and some friends to the Zoo in the Spring for next year's series!

It was a great day!

Travel Fleas and Me!

Can you believe it?  I won!

I listen to this very folksy Geocaching podcast out of the UK called The Podcache Show.  On episode 24, they asked for people to submit the most interesting trackables to cross your path so I submitted this fellow:

And as I was listening to episode 25, I heard that I won the contest!  I think I was only vaguely aware it was a contest.  My prize?  A $10 gift certificate to TravelFleas.com.  Pretty cool, eh?  Travel fleas are metal tags, in all sorts of colors, that you can personalize and add to a trackable or lanyard or keyring.
